about my business
Junior Achievement (JA) is a nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to educating young people about entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workplace readiness since 1919. JA builds partnerships between businesses and educational institutions to provide an opportunity for community leaders to serve as role models to our local students.
Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Programs are offered for all students from elementary to high school.
My Business Info
An ideal referral for me is someone who is interested in making an impact on our students by volunteering in the classroom to teach our programs. Your commitment could range from 45-minutes, once a week for 5-7 weeks depending on the grade level to a one-time commitment of either 45 minutes or all day depending on the program.
I’ve been on board at JA for over five years and I’m still amazed at the time and dedication that our volunteers give in making a difference in the lives of our youth…it makes my job very rewarding. I’ve personally led multiple classrooms so I can be part of empowering their future too and it’s always been the best part of my day and I guarantee it will be for you too!
